The New Orleans Zephyrs locked up a win at Raley Field, knocking off the Sacramento River Cats, 5-2. On the mound for New Orleans was left-hander Blake Vance. He played a major role in the triumph. Picking up the save was Eric Nieto, his 1st. Even with the win, the Zephyrs have a dismal 12-29 record.

New Orleans used the hitting of Mark Dellenbach to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Zephyrs on top, 3-2. For the game, Dellenbach had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
