Isotopes Topple Dodgers with Late Rally
|
The Oklahoma City Dodgers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Jordan Roman into a win. Instead, the Albuquerque Isotopes prevailed, 3-2. Roman threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. Albuquerque reliever Juan Mata picked up the win, raising his record to 5-0. Josh Morgan was tagged with the loss. The Isotopes, at 35-8, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
Francisco Ruiz was the walk-off hero for Albuquerque. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Isotopes center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Albuquerque manager Caleb Eldridge.
