Isotopes Fall Short, 1-0, at Memphis
AutoZone Park hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

Starting pitcher Danny Salazar gave the Memphis Redbirds a rock-solid effort. The Hurricane, Utah native helped his team defeat the Albuquerque Isotopes, 1-0, at AutoZone Park. In 7 innings, Salazar surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Adam Moore earned the save for Memphis, his 3rd.

The Isotopes had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Redbirds going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old right fielder Dakota Price came to the plate. Price hit a run-scoring double on a 0-1 slider from Albuquerque hurler Ernie Lowery. It was Price's 12th double of the year.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Price said.

Memphis is in second place in the American Conference South Division with a record of 21-24.
