Late Rally by Bees Locks Up 9-5 Win
|
Salt Lake shortstop Ignacio Ramirez was instrumental in helping the Bees triumph, 9-5, over the El Paso Chihuahuas. Ramirez went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Salt Lake reliever Jose Fernandez snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Henry Vielma shouldered the loss. With the win, Salt Lake goes to 26-20, while the Chihuahuas fall to 24-21.
Salt Lake used the timely hitting of Conor Long to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Bees on top, 9-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"Their at-bats were really impressive against us," said losing manager Matt Pace.
