The Gwinnett Braves weathered an outstanding game by Charlotte first baseman Chris Germano to topple the Knights, 7-6. Germano went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Ben Risoldi finished the game for Gwinnett and earned his 2nd save. The win puts Gwinnett at 3-3.

Tom Peavey drove in one run for Gwinnett. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Peavey had a clutch at-bat. Facing Charlotte hurler Danny Torres, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Braves a 7-6 lead.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Braves manager A.J. Godfrey. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
