Win Makes Omaha 23-21
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers knocked off the Memphis Redbirds, 6-4, in American Conference action at Werner Park. Omaha pitcher and Las Tunas, Cuba, native Hector Botello had an outstanding performance. The winner was Botello. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Doug Donaghey. George Bryan recorded the save, his 5th.
Shane Watrous, who is tied for 10th in the AC in home runs with 5, chipped in a 2-run home run for Omaha in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Botello said.
With the win, Omaha has a record of 23-21. Memphis falls to 21-25.
