Cubs Earn Late 7-6 Win
Iowa beat Sacramento at Principal Park, escaping with a 7-6 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Pat Jones. He went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. The last-place Cubs improved to 19-29.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With one out, Jones hit a fastball from Justin Gage for a solo home run. The Cubs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

In postgame comments to the Iowa Daily, Jones said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
