Sky Sox Score Late to Beat Grizzlies, 2-1
|
Security Service Field was host to some intense drama.
In a low-scoring affair between the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the Fresno Grizzlies, pitcher Jason Romanchik was the difference between victory and defeat. The Colorado Springs right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Sky Sox win. The winner in relief was Scott Andrus. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 6-4.
The Sky Sox got a clutch hit from designated hitter Rick Reid. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Sky Sox.
"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Fresno manager Seth Dugas.
The Sky Sox win now puts them at 22-26.
