Bees Walk It Off for 21st Win of Season
|
The Salt Lake Bees electrified the home crowd with a walk-off win.
Albuquerque got a big-time effort from pitcher Victor Solis, but it wasn't enough to keep the Salt Lake Bees from winning the game, 4-2. Solis threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Hugo Quevedo picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-2. Juan Mata, who is tied for 2nd in the PC in wins with 5, was tagged with the loss.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Salt Lake. That's when Steve Rasmussen hit a 2-run home run off 35-year old right-handed pitcher Juan Mata to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Rasmussen said.
The last-place Bees hiked their record to 21-28.
