The Sacramento River Cats, despite a fine performance by Nashville pitcher Wade Ray, grabbed a 3-2 win in 10 innings at Raley Field. Ray allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. The first-place River Cats go to 33-16.

The River Cats got a clutch hit from shortstop Dave Ortiz. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the River Cats.

Ortiz said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
