Zephyrs Curb Storm Chasers, 4-3
|
In a close game at Zephyr Field, the New Orleans Zephyrs edged the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-3. New Orleans center fielder Steven Charest stood apart with his performance. He was 4-4 with 4 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Antonio Lopez got the win, improving to 2-5. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 4. New Orleans is in last place in the American Conference South Division with a record of 17-32.
Chris Back, who is tied for 7th in the AC with a .351 on-base percentage, helped out the New Orleans cause in the bottom of the fifth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter went 1 for 2 with 2 walks.
