New Orleans Charts 4-3 Win Over Omaha
|
New Orleans picked up a win at Zephyr Field, bumping off the Omaha Storm Chasers, 4-3. Pitcher Perry Stoll was a major reason the Zephyrs emerged victorious. Stoll picked up the win for New Orleans, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. Alex Casillas recorded his 5th save for New Orleans.
Had Ken Moore not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Moore hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Zephyrs.
"I know we have our doubters," said Omaha manager Lorenzo Villatoro. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
New Orleans is last in the American Conference South Division with a record of 20-28.
