Kyle Brown pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Reno Aces, despite Brown's fine outing, dropped a 3-1 decision to the El Paso Chihuahuas at Southwest University park. El Paso pitcher Josh Beckmann earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Kyle Brown suffered the loss. The win gives El Paso a season record of 26-23.

In the top of the fifth, the Chihuahuas found themselves in a jam. Reno had runners on 1st and 2nd with two out. The score was 3-1, El Paso. Jesus Duran was at the plate, hoping to deal the Chihuahuas a serious blow. Instead, he flied out to end the threat.
