The Bees grabbed a win, 5-4, at Smith's Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Las Vegas pitcher Chris Daniels. Daniels went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs. Salt Lake reliever J.R. Purcell was the winner. His record is now 5-3. Erik Rice took the loss. Las Vegas now owns a losing streak of 7 games.

The decisive blow was delivered by Hunter Talbott in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run home run off fireballing right-hander Erik Rice to win the game for Salt Lake. The home crowd went nuts.

"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Las Vegas skipper Jeff Elgin.
