The New Orleans Zephyrs beat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 8-7, in part because of left fielder John Neal. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles. He scored 2 runs. New Orleans pitcher Juan Estrada got the win. He's now 1-0. Joe Gravatt was tagged with the loss. Alex Gallargo closed it out for his 4th save.

The Storm Chasers had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Zephyrs going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old third baseman Ken Moore came to the plate. Moore hit a 3-run home run on a 2-2 fastball from Omaha hurler William Guaman. It was Moore's 2nd home run of the year.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Moore, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

At 21-28, the Zephyrs are currently last in the American Conference South Division.
