Chihuahuas Beat Aces, 4-3
|
The El Paso Chihuahuas turned back the Reno Aces, 4-3, at Southwest University park. Justin Rowell, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. El Paso now sits at 27-23, while Reno falls to 19-32.
Matt Mountain drove in one run for El Paso. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the eighth inning, Mountain, who is tied for 5th in the PC in triples with 3, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Reno hurler David Nickerson, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Chihuahuas a 4-3 lead.
Mountain called the win the result of "everyone working in tandem."
