Wharton Brings A-Game, Isotopes Beat Grizzlies
The Albuquerque Isotopes knocked off the Fresno Grizzlies, 1-0, in Pacific Conference action at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque pitcher and Bridgeton, New Jersey, native Kirk Wharton had an outstanding performance. Albuquerque occupies first place in the Pacific Conference South Division at 31-20.

Wharton picked up the win. He's now 6-4, after putting the Fresno offense in the deep freeze. Over 7 innings, he allowed no earned runs on 1 hit.

"Kirk pitched like a son-of-a-gun," said Albuquerque manager Ryan Gangle.
