Kojima Helps Storm Chasers Beat Express, 8-1
|
Itsuro Kojima, who is tied for 8th in the AC in stolen bases with 9, had a 4-RBI night to help the Omaha Storm Chasers down the Round Rock Express, 8-1. David Sonnenberg, who is tied for 3rd in the AC with a 10.1 K/9 rate, was the winning pitcher. Over 7.1 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Earning his 2nd save for Omaha was Matt Woods.
In the top of the fourth, Omaha first baseman Dan Hart had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Hart stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 2-1, Omaha. For the game, he went 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Things went our way," said Kojima.
The Storm Chasers, at 26-25, sit in second place in the American Conference North Division.
