The Nashville Sounds and Memphis Redbirds fought to the finish at AutoZone Park.
Memphis wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Matt Helsen, falling to the Nashville Sounds, 4-2. Helsen threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Nashville reliever Clayton Brookshaw picked up the win, while Seth Oltmans took the loss for Memphis.
Rafael Tiscareno delivered a big hit for Nashville. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sounds ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
Tiscareno attributed the win to "concerted effort and focus."
Their 23-31 record puts the Sounds last in the American Conference South Division.
