Bees Deal River Cats 6-5 Loss
|
The Salt Lake Bees wiggled past the Sacramento River Cats, 6-5, at Raley Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Salt Lake third baseman Jon Fuentes. Reliever Micah Blanton picked up the win. His record improves to 8-4. Nick Webb took the loss. Eduardo Astudillo got credit for the save for Salt Lake. It was his 2nd of the year.
Jake Foster was 2-4 with 2 singles for Salt Lake. The 26-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Nick Webb. It was his 13th RBI of the season.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Malik Saddler, the Salt Lake manager.
With the win, Salt Lake has a record of 26-28. Sacramento falls to 32-22.
