Redbirds Sneak By Sky Sox, 3-2
|
Conditions were not ideal but Memphis and Colorado Springs were able to put their game in the books.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Memphis Redbirds and the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, 31-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Salazar was the difference-maker. The Memphis right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Raul Delgado earned the save for Memphis.
Ryan Dooley drove in one run for Memphis. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Dave Buskey. It was his 26th RBI of the season.
"I like our mindset right now," said Memphis manager Justin Tullar.
The Redbirds, at 31-22, lead by one game in their division.
