Ezequiel Escobedo could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Albuquerque Isotopes lost, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Fresno Grizzlies at Isotopes Park. Jessie Sands claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Jérémy Dumont earned the save, his 1st.

It could have been a different outcome for Fresno, had it not been for Scott Lehman, the 24-year old third baseman . Lehman contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Fresno up, 2-0.

"Bottom line," said Albuquerque skipper Bruce Stack, "we didn't play well enough to win."

Fresno currently is in second place in the Pacific Conference North Division at 24-31.
