Sky Sox Clip Redbirds in Tight Contest, 3-1
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and Memphis Redbirds.

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox got a magnificent performance from pitcher Miguel Ortega, who muffled the Memphis offense en route to a tight, 3-1 Sky Sox win at AutoZone Park. Dave Buskey notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-5.

Colorado Springs used a timely hit from Juan Aguirre to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sky Sox ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It was a good effort all around," said Aguirre.

The third-place Sky Sox hiked their record to 31-23.
