5-Hit Game for Escobar
It doesn't happen very often, but it did for Sal Escobar -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Chukchansi Park and paced the 11-1 River Cats win over the Fresno Grizzlies.

After his dynamite batting performance, the Sacramento second baseman told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control."

His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. Sal Escobar singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.

Escobar is batting .277 this season in 35 games with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 101 at-bats.
