Salt Lake Bats Cold in 9-0 Loss
|
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the El Paso Chihuahuas and Salt Lake Bees.
The El Paso Chihuahuas picked up a win, 9-0, over the Salt Lake Bees at Smith's Ballpark. Sam Baia led the charge. The Nacogdoches, Texas native was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times for El Paso. Today's win puts El Paso at 41-16, while Salt Lake falls to 28-29.
In the top of the third, El Paso left fielder Pablo Casales had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and two out, Casales stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, El Paso. For the game, he went 2 for 5 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Casales told the El Paso Chronicle.
