The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place Sacramento River Cats.

Mike Waters, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2099 draft, led Sacramento to a win over Reno. The final score was 7-5. Waters scored 2 times, while going 3 for 5. The second baseman also was credited with 1 RBI. Chase Gomm got credit for the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits in 5 innings. Getting the save was Alex de la Rosa, his 5th.

Brad Reichle had a big 2-run double for the River Cats in the bottom of the second inning. With Sacramento leading 4-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a splitter from Bubba Schmitz, who is tied for 10th in the PC in quality starts with 6, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the River Cats ahead, 6-1.

"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Waters said in reaction to the win.

Sacramento now sits at 30-29, while Reno falls to 25-34.
