Starting pitcher Jesse Aguiar gave the Sacramento River Cats a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Fresno Grizzlies, 2-1, at Chukchansi Park. Aguiar, now 5-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 4, walking 5, and allowing 1 run. The River Cats sit in first place in the Pacific Conference North Division with a record of 33-28.
Adam Averett had a direct impact on the outcome. Averett contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Sacramento up, 2-1.
