The Salt Lake Bees wiggled past the El Paso Chihuahuas, 5-4, at Smith's Ballpark. The win was highlighted by the performance of Salt Lake pitcher Darius Frederick. Ian Slay snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-3 on the season. Arturo Robles suffered the loss. The Bees improved their record to 33-28 with the win over El Paso.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Salt Lake first baseman Sergio Mendez, facing Arturo Robles, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Bees the 5-4 win.

"Winning is contagious," said Mendez. "We're looking forward to the next game."
