Nashville Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Thompson
The Memphis Redbirds overcame a good performance by Nashville designated hitter Nick Thompson to knock off Nashville, 7-4, at AutoZone Park. Thompson went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Doug Donaghey, who is tied for 2nd in the AC in strikeouts with 82, was the winner. He's now 5-4. The loser was Ryan Wolfe. The Redbirds move to 30-31 with the win, while the Sounds drop to 25-33.

Right Fielder Dakota Price made an impact for Memphis, when he swatted a 2-run double off Ryan Wolfe in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Price was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Redbirds manager Justin Tullar.
