The Tacoma Rainiers had to overcome a fine effort from Reno pitcher Josh Holloway to win, 3-2, at Cheney Stadium. Holloway went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Guillermo Lopez earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-4. The Rainiers sport a record of 25-37.

Charlie Smith was the walk-off hero for Tacoma. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Rainiers center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Smith described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
