The Oklahoma City Dodgers converted a terrific effort from starter Juan Velasquez into a win over the Iowa Cubs at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers won the game by a final score of 2-1. James Murano notched his 6th save of the season. With the win, Oklahoma City raised its record to 38-23.

Sean Gibson had a big run-scoring double for the Dodgers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Oklahoma City leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a cutter from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Tommy Baer and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dodgers ahead, 2-0.

Velasquez told reporters after the game: "Runs were scarce, so we had to work hard to get the W."
