The first-place El Paso Chihuahuas took on the Tacoma Rainiers in front of a spirited crowd.

A 3-RBI performance from right fielder Jose Nunez led the El Paso Chihuahuas to a win over the Tacoma Rainiers, 10-2. Clay Carstairs snagged the win in relief. He goes to 7-2 on the season. Prince Waters suffered the loss. Jose Perez picked up his 1st save of the season.

The Chihuahuas had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the eighth. The score was 10-2, El Paso. But Tacoma, with the bases loaded, had mounted a threat. Danny Mendoza dug in at the plate. But on a 1-2 splitter, Mendoza struck out.

The win puts the Chihuahuas at 44-21, while the Rainiers drop to 28-37.
