Sacramento and Albuquerque got after it at Isotopes Park.

Sacramento catcher Mike Mathews made his presence felt in the 6-1 River Cats triumph over the Albuquerque Isotopes. Mathews went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Alejandro Lozano got the win, improving to 4-1. He held the Isotopes to 1 run on 6 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 4.

With Sacramento leading 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Mathews hit a slider from Ernie Lowery for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the River Cats ahead, 4-0.

Mathews told the Sacramento Gazette: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."

At 39-27, the River Cats claim first place in the Pacific Conference North Division.
