Tacoma wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ryan Kelly, falling to the El Paso Chihuahuas, 4-3. Kelly threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Arturo Robles, now 2-3, was credited with the win in 2.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. The win makes El Paso 32-34.

El Paso took a 4-3 lead on Jason Meertens's 10th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Meertens hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Tacoma pitcher Jeremy Coffen visibly frustrated.

Meertens attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
