Storm Chasers Sneak Past Redbirds, 2-1
|
The Memphis Redbirds got a whale of a performance from pitcher Rick Trojanowski, but the Omaha Storm Chasers still prevailed, 2-1, in 11 innings. Trojanowski threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Corey Pounds notched his 1st save of the season. Omaha has now won 4 in a row.
It could have been a different outcome for Omaha, had it not been for Esteban Rivas, the 28-year old first baseman . Rivas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Omaha up, 2-1.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Memphis manager Justin Tullar.
