Victory Takes Chihuahuas to 41-26
The El Paso Chihuahuas defeated the Tacoma Rainiers, 10-3. First Baseman Lorenzo Vazquez deserved a large share of the credit. Vazquez was 1-1 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 for the Chihuahuas. Mark Grantham picked up the win in relief for El Paso, while Jorge Santana took the loss. With the win, El Paso upped its record to 41-26.

Dave Ross had a big 3-run home run for the Chihuahuas in the bottom of the fourth inning. With El Paso leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jorge Santana and punished it. The result was his 5th home run of the season, which put the Chihuahuas on top, 6-2.

"We played hard and won," said Vazquez. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
