Tacoma Rainiers starter Joe Durnin pitched a good game to help his team take down the El Paso Chihuahuas, 5-1. Durnin got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 7 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. He allowed 1 run. The second-place Rainiers are now 28-40, the Chihuahuas 33-35.

Tacoma used the hitting of Corey Ellis to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Rainiers on top, 2-0. For the game, Ellis had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
