The Sacramento River Cats got a stellar effort from pitcher Kyle Zdun, helping Sacramento score a win over the visiting Salt Lake Bees, 4-2. Earning his 1st save for Sacramento was Gene Jones. At 40-29, the River Cats find themselves in first place in the Pacific Conference North Division.

George Aguilar dealt the Bees a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and Sacramento leading 1-0, Aguilar hit a 2-2 splitter for a run-scoring single.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Sacramento skipper Damian Rivera.
