The skies opened up and the rain fell at AutoZone Park.

The Memphis Redbirds relied on a great performance from Blake Costello, who is tied for 4th in the AC in quality starts with 10, to beat the Round Rock Express, 3-1, in 11 innings at AutoZone Park. Memphis pitcher David Herrera earned the win, hiking his record to 3-4. Tansy Touchakis suffered the loss.

Tim Thompson played the role of hero for Memphis. In the bottom of the 11th, he launched a 3-run home run off Tansy Touchakis to win the game. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was the decisive blow.

"I made a lot of good pitches," said Costello. "I was right where I wanted to be."

With the win over Round Rock, the Redbirds improved to 33-36.
