PNC Field was the site for International League action featuring the Scranton WB RailRiders and Syracuse Chiefs.

The Syracuse Chiefs downed the Scranton WB RailRiders, 6-4. The hitting star was catcher Alberto Echeverria. Echeverria went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Chiefs. Terry Large recorded his 1st save for Syracuse.

Syracuse used a well-timed hit by Manny Alas to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

Said losing manager Chris Carley: "These are the grinding hard days that all good teams go through, and this is when we've got to stick together and believe in one another."
