The Sacramento River Cats stopped the Salt Lake Bees, 19-5, at Raley Field. The River Cats got a big game from Chris Strong, who was 4-5 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 6. Nick Webb picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-4. Vic Correa was tagged with the loss. Sacramento currently is in first place in the Pacific Conference North Division at 40-30.

The River Cats got a big hit from left fielder Sergio Almanza. In the bottom of the seventh, Almanza pounded a bases-clearing double to right-center. His 13th double of the season put the River Cats ahead, 17-4.

"We played hard and won," said Strong. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
