Rainiers Deal 51s 5-3 Setback
The Tacoma Rainiers faced a tough opponent in Las Vegas pitcher Craig Darnell, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Cheney Stadium by a final score of 5-3. Darnell went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Tacoma pitcher Tyler Lovelace got the win. He's now 1-1. Bill Burroughs was tagged with the loss. The save was credited to Jesus Arias, his 9th.

Catcher Tony Mireles made an impact for Tacoma, when he swatted a 2-run double off Bill Burroughs in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Mireles was 1-1 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Tacoma manager Wayne Blanchard.

At 31-41, the Rainiers are currently second in the Pacific Conference North Division.
