Reno Aces starter Steve Grimsley pitched well against the El Paso Chihuahuas at Aces Ballpark, leading his team to a win, 4-3. John Meyer earned the save for Reno, his 6th of the year. Yes, it was a win for Reno; but their 13-59 record is still nothing to boast about.

The Aces got a big at-bat from third baseman Billy Shoupe. For the game, Shoupe was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Reno a 3-0 lead.

"All in all, I thought Steve pitched a fine game for us tonight," said Reno manager Jose Heredia.
