Clippers Topple Indians, 5-2
|
Columbus turned a good effort from starter Jason Pettus into a win over the Indianapolis Indians at Huntington Park. The final score was 5-2. Pettus, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The win has Columbus at 6-3.
The Clippers got a big hit from center fielder Mario Mendoza. In the bottom of the fifth, Mendoza pounded a 2-run home run to right. His 1st home run of the season put the Clippers ahead, 4-2.
