The Sacramento River Cats earned a close win over the Fresno Grizzlies, thanks in part to Kyle Zdun. The Sacramento left-hander, who is tied for 7th in the PC with a 2.99 ERA, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Jamie Estrella recorded the save, making him 9 for 10. The first-place River Cats improved to 43-32.

Ryan McClure, who is tied for 8th in the PC in home runs with 10, helped out the Sacramento cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a solo home run. For the game, the second baseman went 1-4 with a home run.

"I like what I saw today," said Sacramento manager Elwiin de Lange, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
