With 3-1 Win, Dodgers Go to 39-34
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Oklahoma City Dodgers and the Nashville Sounds, pitcher Ted Spann was the difference between victory and defeat. The Oklahoma City right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Dodgers win. Tyler Jones sewed up the save, his 5th. The Dodgers, at 39-34, sit in first place in the American Conference North Division.
The Sounds had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Dodgers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 28-year old left fielder Allen Vann came to the plate. Vann hit a 2-run double on a 3-1 splitter from Nashville hurler Wade Ray. It was Vann's 9th double of the year.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Vann. "It sure beats the alternative."
