Isotopes Take Down Chihuahuas, 7-6
The Albuquerque Isotopes withstood an impressive performance by El Paso first baseman Jeremy Hammonds to defeat the Chihuahuas, 7-6, at Southwest University park. Hammonds hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Albuquerque is now 43-32.

The result might have been different, had it not been for Hugo Sanchez, the Albuquerque first baseman. Sanchez had a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Isotopes ahead, 7-6. For the game, Sanchez had 1 double and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Caleb Eldridge.
