Brian Gottstein could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Round Rock Express lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Omaha Storm Chasers at Werner Park. Picking up his 15th save was former first round draft pick Matt Yarbrough. The Storm Chasers are now 45-29, while the Express fall to 38-35.

The Express had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Storm Chasers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 33-year old catcher Josh Cortez came to the plate. Cortez hit a solo home run on a 3-1 curveball from Round Rock hurler Brian Gottstein. It was Cortez's 1st home run of the year.

"We came in and got the job done. That's what it's all about in this business," said Cortez.
