Chihuahuas Lose at Home, 7-4
|
The Sacramento River Cats knocked off the El Paso Chihuahuas, 7-4, in Pacific Conference action at Southwest University park. Sacramento pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Mitch White had an outstanding performance. White picked up the win for Sacramento, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0. Picking up the save was Ryan Zangaro, his 4th.
The River Cats got a big hit from shortstop Terry Korf. Facing El Paso pitcher Jason Bingham in the top of the sixth, Korf pounded a bases-clearing triple to left. His 1st triple of the season put the River Cats ahead, 6-2.
"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said White.
The win gives Sacramento a season record of 45-32.
