A good performance from center fielder Mike Lowery helped the Iowa Cubs defeat the Omaha Storm Chasers, 18-4. Lowery went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Cubs. The third-place Cubs hiked their record to 39-37.

Joe Stephens, who leads the AC in bases on balls with 38, took Omaha hurler Jorge Gurule deep in the bottom of the fifth. His 3-run home run put the Cubs on top, 3-2. In all, Stephens had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It was all gas and no brake on our side," said Stephens.
