Cashman Field was the site for Pacific Conference action featuring the Sacramento River Cats and Las Vegas 51s.
The Las Vegas 51s went home winners at Cashman Field, thanks in large part to starter Jose Garza. Garza stifled the Sacramento River Cats, enabling Las Vegas to grab the 3-1 win. Garza went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 3-3. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Aaron Comer.
Yutaka Higashi, who is tied for 9th in the PC in home runs with 14, aided the Las Vegas cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Sacramento manager Bryan Crossley. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
Las Vegas, at 39-40, occupies third place in the Pacific Conference South Division.
