Chihuahuas Deal Rainiers 3-2 Loss
The Tacoma Rainiers and El Paso Chihuahuas were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

El Paso center fielder Avery Thomas played a vital role in his team's 3-2 triumph over Tacoma. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles for El Paso. El Paso reliever Brad Stoves picked up the win, upping his record to 7-5. Chris Bell absorbed the loss. Aaron D'Uva earned save number 6 this season.

Had Brice White not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, White hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 1-0, in favor of the Chihuahuas.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said El Paso skipper Tyler Beckwith. "I can't complain."

The Chihuahuas saw their win-loss record go to 45-36. At the same time, the Rainiers fell to 39-42.
